What is Dry Cleaning?

Dry cleaning is a process in which garments are tumbled in a liquid dry cleaning solution in a machine that looks like a large front loading washing machine. While the water used in your home washing machine will cause many natural fabrics to shrink, dry cleaning solution does not do that. Dry cleaning is also very good at removing a wide range of stains, especially those that include oil and grease – for example makeup, oily foods, body oils, etc.

Better for the Environment Than Washing Your Clothes

After the garments are finished cleaning, they are dried in the same machine, so all the cleaning solution can be recaptured and nothing goes back into the environment. In this way dry cleaning is a much more environment friendly process than washing your clothes at home. When you wash your clothes, dirt and detergents are flushed into a sewer or septic system and go back into the environment. In our dry cleaning process, the only thing that comes out of our machines is the soil from the garments and the detergents we use. And this is all sent to a recycling center.

In our dry cleaning process, the dry cleaning solution is constantly being filtered and distilled to insure the highest quality care for your garments. We use a cleaning solution that is eco-friendly and non-toxic. The process we use is more costly than the processes used by many dry cleaners, but we believe it is important to provide our customers with the most earth friendly cleaning process possible.
